year. Beer is also part of our local culture, and
plays a prominent role in many local events.

music component. In addition, several of our bars and

Clear Creek is the reason Golden is on the
map. It provided early settlers with drinking water,
industrial power, irrigation, and a canyon route to get to
the minerals in the mountains. Today it still provides
drinking water and also supports downtown recreation.

Golden's Historic Downtown is a great place for a
pedestrian-friendly vacation. It has two first
class hotels, several bed and breakfasts, an RV park,
several museums, a recreation
center, more than two dozen restaurants, and three dozen
easy walking distance.
Golden has more than 20 miles of trails
within the city limits and is surrounded by thousands of
acres of Open Space. From a leisurely amble on flat
walkways by the creek by step, challenging mountain trails,
we can satisfy your hiking urges!
People come from far and wide to
cycle in Golden. Denver-area
road bikers come to Golden as a day trip. Serious
cyclists tackle the Lariat Loop Road up Lookout Mountain.

Golden has a water park, The Splash, which
is open during summer months. The Golden Community Center
offers swimming all year round, with separate pools for laps
and leisure. Clear Creek is swift and cold, but provides
some swimming and wading in late summer and fall.

is considered one the finest golf courses and golf
experiences available in Denver and all of Colorado. Most
