Sample Graphics
Created with Surfer 7 In their diligent testing of Surfer 7, the Beta testers
created some stunning graphics. Below are some maps they generated with Surfer 7.
Making BLN files like the ones used to define the cross
section slices here, is easier than ever in Surfer 7. Digitized points are automatically
saved in the BLN format.
Visualization is enhanced when vector maps are overlaid on
contour or wireframe maps. Use legends for reference. A USGS SDTS DEM file was used to
create this map of Ashland, Or.
Breaklines were defined when creating the GRD file used for
these shaded relief, contour, and vector maps. The light source for the shaded relief map
was manually manipulated to the users preferred location.
The same GRD file from the above map was used to create
this surface map with the overlaid contour map. The effects of the breaklines are dramatic
in this 3D view
