About Golden:  Golden Transcript Articles

Golden is fortunate enough to have had its own newspaper, The Golden Transcript, almost since the founding of the town. George West started publishing The Transcript in 1866.

The Transcript also publishes articles on the history of the Golden area several times a year.

Please note that the research for these articles was conducted by various local historians. While we cannot guarantee their accuracy, we know you will enjoy reading them.

Note: These articles have been retyped from old photocopies of the original articles.
