"Taku Glacier"

This graph was created with Grapher 3.0 and shows the surface elevation, gradient, and relative surface velocites of the Taku Glacier near Juneau, Alaska. A longitudinal profile was established on the glacier with survey points every 500 meters. High precision differential GPS was used to obtain the X, Y, and Z coordinates of each survey point. The graph clearly shows the relationship between surface velocity, gradient, and distance from the terminus of the glacier along the centerline. Surface velocities are minimal at the divide between the Taku and Llewellyn Glaciers, and increase in magnitude toward the termini.

This graph was created for the "Report on the Geodetic Activities of the 2000 JIRP Field Season" for the Juneau Icefield Research Program.
